The term Project Execution Plan is often used in industry (especially construction or engineering) and can have a couple of meanings:
View 1 (Common Interpretation): The PEP is a plan that focuses specifically on the Execution Phase of the project. It is more detailed on the "doing" of the work, the physical processes, quality checks on the ground, and day-to-day team coordination, essentially detailing how the Execution portion of the larger PMP will unfold.
View 2 (Relationship to PMP): Some sources consider the PEP to be a component or a high-level strategy within the overall Project Management Plan. In this view, the PMP is the meta-plan that contains the PEP, along with all the other management plans (like Risk, Communications, etc.).
In summary, the Project Management Plan (PMP) is the overarching, all-encompassing document for managing the project from start to finish, while the Project Execution Plan (PEP) often focuses on the detailed activities and processes of the 'doing' phase.
